HIPSTER DEATH FEST in October + more

SAME-SEX DICTATOR will be performing in this year's HIPSTER DEATH FEST happening all around Seattle next month.  The line-up for our show on Saturday, October 15th at The Highline also includes PIG HEART TRANSPLANT (fea. members of IRON LUNG, WALLS, etc), BLUE SABBATH BLACK CHEER, PATHOGENS, as well as SISTRENATUS, RUSALKA, and TASKMASTER, all of whom hail from Vancouver, BC.  This incredibly noisy show will cost $7 and begin at 8:30pm.  Be sure to catch some of the other dates of the fest as well, including Justin from S-SD's avant-black-psychedelic metal group, HELLGRAMMITE, who are playing the opening night at The Mercury.

SAME-SEX DICTATOR are playing at Seattle's newest record store, B-Sides, this Sunday September 18th.  Joining us in a cramped space are BIG CRUX, SELF-COM, DREAM DECAY, and hopefully yourself.  The show is free and starts at 7:30.  B-Sides is located on Olive Way downtown, between 1st and 2nd ave.

We are also working to put together a bill for the always excellent San Diego thrash of DEATH CRISIS.  The show is October 17th at 4733 Roosevelt.  Stay tuned for the full line-up.




RED LIQUID is still in the process of not one, but two recordings.  Expect that when we finish there will be enough material for a full-length LP, a cassette, and a few singles/EPs/splits.  We are hoping to return to playing live by the end of October.

RED LIQUID "I Wanna Be Yr Victim" Demo

RED LIQUID began when I was about 17 and was trying to learn how to play the keyboards.  over a decade later, my skills haven't progressed too much on that instrument, but the project intended for its use undeniably has.  this is our first "real" recording as a full band (our previous mini-CD was simply a digital practice recording at our old house) and I'm excited to see where things are going to go from here.  we will be recording a full length at the end of May with Brandon Fitzsimons.  a few songs from this demo might show up on the album or a peripheral release since our intent is to get basic tracking taken care of for nearly all of our songs while we'll have the Sound House at our disposal.  recording the last SAME-SEX DICTATOR LP there was an awesome experience and drums sound huge in that room.


this was recorded by David Audino (CRIMEWAVE) at The Institution rehearsal studio where both our bands practice between our respective rooms last summer.  I think the first day of tracking it got be over 100 degrees in our space.  I played guitar and some keys (no I actually just shook my keys around at one point while doing vocals), Corey played bass and Rhodes, Ian played bass and synths, and Nick played drums.

THE REDEADENING will chiefly be a place to host music for my various projects over the years as well as those of my friends and allies.  in the future I also hope to include album reviews, show reviews, and promotion for bands' upcoming events and releases.

part of the purpose behind this blog's creation was to make the projects we've been involved in over the years which might not have received a lot of exposure finally available to a (sort of) mass audience.  thus, all music posted here probably has been done so with the permission of its creator.  if not, I will respect any wishes that it be taken down.
